The Plose hiking area

Nature adventures for everyone

When you spend a holiday on the Plose, expect the ideal hiking area. Nestled in the world of the Dolomites, families with children as well as experienced hikers will find lots of great ways to travel around on foot. The expression “mountains close enough to touch” gets a whole new meaning.

Have you ever been to the Malga Rossalm? Do you know the ultimate secret tip for families, the Woody Walk? The Bressanone high altitude route to the Malga Ochsenalm? Here, on the Plose mountain, there are so many hiking trails that you can choose a different one every day. Sometimes easy, sometimes challenging – whatever you fancy. All of it is located in our immediate vicinity. The nearby hiking region around the Passo delle Erbe and Val di Funes is within easy reach of The Vista Hotel. The Val di Funes is also known as the valley of trails and is home to Reinhold Messner. One good reason not to miss the peaks, which appear close enough to touch. The Rodegno and Luson high-alpine pastures are always worth a trip! The many small, refreshing mountain streams make the picture-postcard image perfect.

Sunrise on mount Gabler

Experience an unforgettable sunrise on Mount Gabler with a unique view on Mount Peitler and the
Dolomites. Almost an hour before sunrise and still covered by the darkness of the night the new Pfannspitz
cable car opens for one ascent to bring all the early birds from the starting point in Skihuette up to Mount
Pfannspitz on about 2,500 m of altitude. From here trail number 7 leads up to Mount Gabler. Enjoy the
silence and the first sun beams of the day with a breathtaking view on the Dolomites before you can have
a rich breakfast with South Tyrolean products in the hut Pfannspitzhuette or the hut Rossalm. The way back
can be handled by foot or comfortable with the new cable car.
